When there comes a time in your life where you just are not really happy with certain areas of your body, you may begin to think about having a little liposuction done. But while most people are innocently enough considering having these procedures done, no one really understands the liposuction costs involved.

Depending on the area that you want worked on, or the many different areas, you are looking at anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000. The fact of the matter is that unless you have been saving your pennies since childhood, you are more in likely going to have to take out some sort of loan in order to go through with this surgery because liposuction costs a lot of money.

While there are different costs that each surgeon requests for their services, a lot of the costs involved are pretty much universal. But, it is always good to go for a few different consultations in order to make sure what you are paying is an industry standard for the type of procedure you are requesting. But be prepared, because no matter where you go, it is still going to be expensive before liposuction costs a lot of money no matter what. So besides money, because it is going to be expensive no matter how you look at it, you are going to want to make sure that the surgeon himself is a good choice.

Rough Figures for Liposuction Costs

It really does depend what you are going in for but let’s say for example that you really only want to focus on one particular area that you want improved. The general liposuction costs for one area is around $3,500 and that just covers your basic surgeon’s fee, the anesthesiologist, and the basic run of the mill facility fee. Of course, the surgeon is going to get the bulk of that money, as they are the one performing the biggest job. Now, the liposuction costs for three areas is around $7,000 which is not bad for the amount of body mass that can be removed from three areas on the body.

Now, let’s pretend that you are really going for it all and you want to suck out as much as you can while you are under the knife and you are going for five areas on the body. The average liposuction costs for five areas are around $10,000, give or take a little. And let’s not forget that the surgeon is going to try to talk you into getting some additional work done since you are already going to be under and all. If you want to add a buttock lift to your already expensive liposuction costs, you are looking at an additional $5,000 and a tummy tuck is an additional $5,000. But for those on a budget, there is always the laser treatment of leg veins and that is only a small fee of roughly $400.

Liposuction

?

Many Americans have only a vague concept of what liposuction is. Simply put, liposuction is the surgical removal of fat cells through a stainless steel suction tube called a cannula. Liposuction was first performed in 1974 and was a tremendous improvement over previous surgical body contouring techniques. There have been many advances in liposuction procedures over the last few decades, making it one of the safest and most popular body contouring surgeries in the world…

?

If you are considering liposuction, it is important that you have realistic expectations. Although dramatic results can be achieved, they may not be as immediate or obvious as you would like. As with all plastic surgery, the success of liposuction will depend on a number of individual factors, such as age, skin elasticity, weight, and overall health. Liposuction is not appropriate for people with a weakened immune system, diabetes, heart or artery problems, or a history of blood clots or restricted blood flow…

There are several types of liposuction procedures available, all of which use a wand-like instrument called a cannula to remove unwanted fat. Tumescent liposuction involves the injection if a large amount of anesthetic into the area being treated; the wet and super-wet techniques are variations of this type of liposuction. In ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL), sound waves are used to liquefy the fat before it is removed. LipoSelection® uses the same concept without disturbing the surrounding tissue…

The basic liposuction procedure involves the insertion of a small, tube-like instrument called a cannula through tiny incisions made by the surgeon. The cannula then breaks up and vacuums away unwanted fat deposits beneath the skin. Local or IV sedation will be used, depending on the type and number of liposuction procedures you undergo…

What is ?

means “removal of fat” by surgery. Fat is permanently removed from the area of liposuction. After the age of 18 years, the height of any individual is fixed and you do not grow any taller. Similarly the number of fat cells in the body is also fixed at the age of 18 years and subsequently the fat cells can increase in size, but not in number. Thus, the area where has been done looses the fat along with the fat cells and the reduction is permanent as the fat cells have been removed from that area. In liposuction, you not only lose weight, but also attains improvement in the contour of the body- you can loose 4″ to 6″ or even more from your waist-line. Up to 6litres of fat can be suctioned safely in one sitting, although more can also be done depending on the individual case.

Surgery through :

Most liposuctions at our centre are performed under general anesthesia. , especially small volume can be performed under I.V sedation and local anesthesia too. The surgeon will make a very small incision of approximately 0.1 inches long (3 mm) and will insert a small tube called cannula under your skin. The cannula may be connected to a device that generates high vacuum pressure or to a special syringe. The unwanted fat deposits, which prior to this process were treated with injections of a special liquid (saline solution combined with local anesthesia and a vasoconstrictor), are removed from under your skin through the cannula by suction. This liquid generates the adequate conditions for the extraction of fat. The cannula is moved under the skin to reach all the desired areas. The numbers of incisions vary according to the characteristics of each area, but it is usually more than one. In ultrasonic assisted (UAL), a special cannula that emits ultrasonic waves is used. Since these waves cause the fat cells to rupture and the fat is liquefied, its removal becomes much easier.

Candidates for :

Not everyone is a good candidate for . It is not a good alternative to dieting or exercising. To be a good candidate, one must usually be over 18 and in good general health, have tried a diet and exercise regime and have found that the last 10 or 15 pounds persist in certain pockets on the body. Diabetes, any infection, heart or circulation problems, generally nullify one’s eligibility for the procedure. In older people, the skin is usually less elastic, limiting the ability of the skin to readily tighten around the new shape. In this case, other procedures can be added to the , such as an Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

Recovery from :

Depending on the extent of the liposuction, patients are generally able to return to work or school between two days and two weeks. A compression garment or bandage is worn for two to four weeks. If non-absorbable sutures are placed, they will be removed after five to ten days. After a typical performed in the abdomen or waist, you may lose between 7 to 11 pounds (3.5 to 5 kg), according to the area treated. Your body will have more harmonious lines, which will probably make you feel more satisfied when you look at yourself and will make it easier to choose new clothes. The scars, which are very small, will become unnoticeable in no time.

Non surgical alternatives for :

One non-surgical alternative for that has gained in popularity is the use of shapewear garments. Although shapewear cannot provide patients with the same level of results as liposuction, body scans have shown that they can remove bulges and slim the waist, hips, and thighs. Most shapewear products are similar to the post-surgical compression garments but unlike the post-surgical garments, shapewear is designed for long-term daily use.

Why to consider

Prices and cost budget for are normally 50% below the cost that runs in US and Europe plus Indian hospitals don’t charge any hidden costs. As health care costs skyrocket, patients in the developed world are looking overseas for medical treatment. India is capitalizing on its low costs and highly trained doctors to appeal to these “medical tourists”. In India, medical treatment is not only fast but also costs a fraction of what it costs in USA or Europe. Even tele-consultancy is available for expert opinion and transmission facilities. Why VASER Liposuction Is So Popular? No comments yet

Why VASER Liposuction Is So Popular?

Because of the many benefits that VASER liposuction has to offer, it’s no wonder why it has become an increasingly popular choice of liposuction over the past several years. With lower costs, quicker recovery time, and less pain, many people are choosing VASER liposuction over more traditional methods of liposuction.

Benefits of VASER Liposuction

The most obvious reason behind VASER lipo’s popularity is it requires very little time to recover from the procedure. With VASER lipo being a non-invasive form of cosmetic surgery, many patients find themselves back to their busy lives in just a matter of days.

VASER liposuction is also popular because patients can undergo the entire cosmetic procedure fully awake and with a complete sense of awareness. With no general anesthesia required, the procedure poses less risks and complications to patients than surgeries that require patients to be placed under sedation.

Another benefit of the VASER treatment is it produces less pain than the more conventional liposuction procedures. As a result, many patients are able to easily walk out of the surgical office almost as easily as they walked in. The majority of patients don’t feel anything while the VASER treatment is being performed. Of course, as is the case any time our bodies undergo any form of trauma, patients do experience some minor pain and bruising as the body recovers.

How VASER Liposuction Works

VASER liposuction targets fat cells through the use of ultrasound technology. Using ultrasonic sound waves, the fat cells are broken up and then suctioned out of the body through a thin tube or cannula. This ultrasonic liposuction technique leaves vital structures such as connective tissues, nerves, and blood vessels minimally disturbed, enabling the treated areas to recover much quicker.

VASER liposuction differs from traditional liposuction procedures in the sense that it can remove fat from areas of the body that conventional methods can’t. This makes it ideal for more sensitive areas of the body, such as the upper arms, inner thighs, chin, and neck. This ultrasonic fat removal surgery also provides plastic surgeons with the ability to sculpt the body in ways not possible with traditional methods.

The VASER procedure is an ideal form of liposuction for those wishing to rid their bodies of stubborn fat that regular diet and exercise can’t eliminate. With VASER liposuction being an FDA-approved fat reduction surgery since 2008, many people are now choosing this ultrasonic form of liposuction over more traditional methods to rid their bodies of unwanted fat.

Liposuction Surgery – My Friend’s Liposuction Went Wrong. Read What Happened No comments yet

Liposuction Surgery – My Friend’s Liposuction Went Wrong. Read What Happened

When you get a liposuction then you must decide wether you want to have the fat removed during the surgery or not. For me it was always clear that I wanted to get rid of the fat. There is another option though that you wait until the body drains the fat naturally.

I never really understood why someone would want to wait. If you have a surgery then the doctor can remove the fat as well, right? Well, some people do not do that. I know somebody who got such a liposuction surgery recently and is quite unhappy.

To be honest, it is still early to tell if it was a mistake or not. The surgery was just three months ago. My friend had about 150lbs prior to the surgery and 162lbs the day after the surgery! Today she has about the weight she had before surgery but she looks deformed. She is quite unhappy.

Did the plastic surgeon made a mistake? Usually you have to wait at least six months to see the full benefits of a successful liposuction. Three months have passed and she looks worse than before. You can not blame her for being disappointed.

I recommended her to go and talk with at least two other cosmetic surgeons to find out if this is normal or not. If it was not she probably has to go under a second surgery. The question remains if she can afford that because a liposuction is not cheap.

She has an appointment next week with the new surgeons and hopefully comes back with good news. I also had a liposuction but my fat was removed instantly during the surgery. I had some swelling afterwards of course but it did go away and after some time I was pretty happy with my look. For me it was a success. For my friend however the nightmare is still not over yet.

Body Sculpting 101: Men and Liposuction surgery

More and more men are turning into body-conscious freaks who believe going to the gym is just not enough to polish those lean muscles. Physical appearance is indeed important in scoring the hottest chicks at parties so many men are investing money on the easiest way to get those unwanted fats out of their system through Liposuction.

Although liposuction is commonly viewed as a female procedure, the process can actually apply to both sexes who want to lose weight or shape their physique, especially as they approach older age or need to trim serious fat accumulated over the years.

According to a recent study made by university students in Ohio, female patients turn to liposuction to trim fat in legs and thighs, while men tend to avail of the procedure for core sculpting. This usually involves removing beer bellies that hard to eliminate, especially for middle-aged men. In addition, people nearing midlife crisis are prone to feel depressed about their physical appearance, hence cosmetic surgery provides a tested and convenient way to reclaim their bygone bodies.

Since men are more focused on the middle section of the body, liposuction operations for men are usually more expensive compared to females. The gender doesn’t affect the cost rather it’s the volume of fats that will be taken out of your body. Generally, men are larger in size than women thus the surgery involves bigger areas of the body. In addition, the male body fats are more fibrous than those of women’s bodies therefore the surgery is more complex and time consuming.

Some male patients get a liposuction surgery to cure their Gynecomastia, a physical abnormality where the men’s chests are larger than the usual. Liposuction will lessen the size and volume of fats in the male’s breast which cures their Gynecomastia.

Based on the liposuction for men website (http://www.liposuctionmen.com/), the top five lists of cosmetic procedures done with men are Liposuction, Rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast reduction, and facelift. Currently, in the United States over 32% of the male population visit a cosmetic surgery clinic to get a liposuction.

Although getting a liposuction is a good way to encourage yourself from losing those unwanted fats, doctors would still recommend their patients to maintain their bodies through a well-balanced diet, daily workout, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle with less vices.

Prices of Liposuction: Why Are Some Prices Higher? No comments yet

Prices of Liposuction: Why Are Some Prices Higher?

Deciding to get lipo is a huge decision. Not only will you be forking out a lot of money, you will be changing your body forever. If you’re smart, you’ll do your research before jumping into anything. And that research should include the prices of liposuction and why some surgeon’s prices are higher-even for the same procedure.

Average Prices of Liposuction

The following are some average fees for liposuction based on body part treated. These prices should be used as a guide only. As explained below, your actual lipo fees can vary based on geographical location, type of lipo procedure, surgeon, and your personal case.

Upper Arms ,200 – ,500

Back ,200 – ,000

Hips/Waist ,800 – ,500

Chin/Neck ,000 – ,000

Inner Thighs and Knees ,500 – ,000

Outer Thighs ,500 – ,000

Breasts/Chest .800 – ,000

Upper/Lower Abdomen ,000 – ,500

Reasons Prices of Liposuction Can Run Higher

One of the reasons lipo can run higher is because the technique used may require more than one session to achieve the desired results. Many surgeons will calculate the price of the total sessions required based on the body part being treated and quote you one flat price. So be sure to inquire about the price quote provided to you and just how many lipo sessions it includes.

Prices of liposuction can also run higher based on the type of lipo procedure you have done. Some of the newer, more state-of-the-art lipo procedures tend to be more expensive due to the high-tech equipment and supplies used. For example, tumescent liposuction usually runs higher than the traditional method of lipo.

Rates of liposuction can also run high in wealthier geographical areas. For example, prices of liposuction in Beverly Hills, California are usually higher than some of the more rural areas of California. This does not mean that the cosmetic surgeons in Beverly Hills are any better than those in other cities. The prices are higher because many people living in Beverly Hills are wealthy and the surgeon’s know their patients can afford to pay higher fees. This is where you need to watch out, because you could easily get taken advantage of if you have your surgery performed in a city known for its wealth. So if you live within a city with a higher cost of living, consider having your procedure done in a less prominent city or state where prices of liposuction are lower.

There are situations where surgeons charge higher prices for liposuction because they are considered experts in their field. These surgeons tend to be in high demand. As a result, they are usually very busy and are usually booked solid. Many of these prominent cosmetic surgeons charge higher fees due to their expertise.

If you’re looking for the best, then paying higher prices of liposuction may be worth it. However, be sure to find out why the surgeon is so highly sought after. Is it because he is able to provide his patients with better results than most, or is it just a bunch of hype produced through creative marketing? Knowing the answer to this question and more is very important when it comes to who you entrust your money and your body to and which prices of liposuction are worth the expense.

What to Ask your Surgeon Before your Liposuction Procedure No comments yet

What to Ask your Surgeon Before your Liposuction Procedure

For some people, exercise and diets simply won’t work. They try every new fad diet and piece of expensive home exercise equipment. They try costly gym memberships and personal trainers — all to no avail. Feeling very helpless, these people may feel like they have nowhere to turn. With the advancements in liposuction surgery, many people can finally get the help they need to get rid of stubborn fat deposits.

Liposuction is a form of cosmetic surgery, so it is important to understand what it entails before making a decision about the procedure. As with just about any surgery, you will no doubt have a number of questions running through your mind. Then again, you may discover a few you haven’t even considered. To help you understand the procedure and what to expect afterward, here is what to ask your surgeon before your liposuction procedure.

Important Questions to Ask Your Liposuction Doctor

The first questions you are going to want to ask your liposuction doctor pertain to professional experience and education. Ask for verification of the doctor’s license or certificates. While there are many cosmetic surgeons who perform a wide variety of procedures, a doctor who specializes in liposuction offers the best chance of a rewarding experience.

You should also ask him or her about the risks and complications associated with liposuction surgery. If the doctor is not forthcoming, then you should strongly consider finding another liposuction surgeon. You should also ask the doctor if you could look at any before and after pictures of his patients. This will help you gauge the ability of the surgeon.

Other Questions for Your Liposuction Doctor

Other important questions you should ask your liposuction doctor include:

-How long does the procedure normally take?

-What type of anesthesia does the doctor use during the procedure?

-What is the normal length of time to heal?

-How long should I expect to be out of work?

-How long before I can return to my normal daily activities?

-Are there any alternatives to liposuction surgery for which I may be a candidate?

-How will I feel after the surgery?

-What can I expect as far as liposuction prices?

In addition to these questions, ask your doctor about your options if you are not satisfied with the results.

Questions Your Doctor Will Probably Ask You

The pre-op visit is a question and answer fact-finding mission for patient and doctor. Be prepared to answer several questions from the liposuction doctor, all of which concern your medical history and overall health. You should also notify the doctor of any medications or vitamins you are taking.

The Importance of Questions Before Your Liposuction Procedure

Pre-operative questions are vital to the success of the surgery. They not only give the doctor necessary health-related information about you, but also give you an opportunity to establish a rapport with the surgeon. At no time should your liposuction doctor avoid a question or make you feel like you are bothering him or her. If this occurs, you should find another specialist for your liposuction surgery.
